LisaGay Hamilton is an actor, director, teacher, producer and activist. She is a graduate of Juilliard Drama Division. She is known for her theater movie and television roles. In 2003 her film Beah; A Black Woman Speaks premiered on HBO and won both the African Diaspora Award at FESPACO Film Festival and at AFI Film Festival.
An actor is a story teller, a griot, a truthsayer, a mirror and a healer. In this workshop you will learn the power of story telling. You will write your own story (or someone else’s) and then perform that tale. You will learn that the craft of acting is simply “being”. We will explore what is it to be.
