Full-Time Permanent Position

The African American Policy Forum (AAPF) is urgently seeking an enthusiastic Operations Associate to join our team! This position is a full-time remote role with a likely transition into an in-office role in AAPF’s New York office. Reporting to the Chief of Staff (COS) and working closely with other senior leaders, the Operations Associate provides high-level administrative support across a wide range of areas, including: Human Resources, Finance, Facilities, Communications, and Technology. 

Duties and Responsibilities include: 

  • Creating and maintaining spreadsheets to track ongoing budgets, projects, contact lists, and various benchmarks of organization 

  • Coordinating and executing communications with AAPF’s followers, allied organizations, and other partners and stakeholders 

  • Coordinating logistics and technology platform implementation for AAPF campaigns, events, and initiatives

  • Providing technical support during virtual events

  • Assisting in the management of staff and organizational email accounts and AAPF’s timekeeping program

  • Creating and/or maintaining filing systems, both electronic and physical

  • Drafting quarterly organizational reports which include development and programming analytics 

  • Providing technical assistance to staff as needed 

The Ideal Candidate should have:

  • Familiarity with AAPF programs and initiatives;

  • Previous work experience with a non-profit or social justice organization;

  • Effective written and oral communication skills;

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills;

  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, take initiative, exercise good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality in all tasks;

  • Familiarity with donor/fundraiser databases, particularly Kindful, Moonclerk, Cheerful, JustCause, and Benevity;

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Calendly, Adobe, Slack, and Zoom scheduling;

  • Experience managing, preserving, and protecting electronic files through cloud-based servers;

  • Intermediate level accounting skills; 

  • Proficiency with Mailchimp and Constant Contact email delivery systems; and

  • Demonstrated experience in project management, program administration, and logistics.

  • Operations Experience: 2-3 years (Required)

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (Required) Graduate degree in business and/or nonprofit management (Preferred)
