AAPF is seeking an enthusiastic Arts and Media Assistant to join our team! This position is a full-time remote role with the potential to transition into an in-office role in the next three to six months. The Arts and Media Assistant will serve as a member of the Arts and Media Team currently under the supervision of the A&M Production Manager.

Founded in 1996, The African American Policy Forum (AAPF) is an innovative think tank that connects academics, activists, and policy-makers to promote efforts to dismantle structural inequality. We utilize new ideas and innovative perspectives to transform public discourse and policy. We promote frameworks and strategies that address a vision of racial justice that embraces the intersections of race, gender, class, and the array of barriers that disempower those who are marginalized in society. AAPF is dedicated to advancing and expanding racial justice, gender equality, and the indivisibility of all human rights, both in the U.S. and internationally.
The Ideal Candidate should have:

Comprehensive understanding of Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality;

Familiarity with AAPF programs and initiatives;

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Suite, especially Audition, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro;

3+ years of professional graphic design experience

Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

Intermediate expertise in Graphic Design
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assisting in production of AAPF’s Intersectionality Matters podcast

Preparing audio and video clips for promotional/outreach purposes

Design and creation of graphics for AAPF events and initiatives

Maintaining website by updating graphics and videos

Supervising Arts and Media volunteers and interns

Starting date: Immediate
Salary commensurate with experience (falling within the range of $48,000 - $55,000).
